Universal's Epic Universe - Cherrylake

Universal’s Epic Universe

Epic Universe is Universal’s newest theme park, home to five immersive lands designed to spark wonder. Cherrylake had the opportunity to support the project by providing landscape services across several key areas: Epic Boulevard, the entrance gate, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, ticketing areas, Creative Campus, and various employee and back-of-house spaces.

A diverse mix of plant material was used to bring these spaces to life, including Sycamores, Topiary Oaks, Elms, Hollies, Yellow Anise, Sandcord, Dwarf Grasses, and more. Each was selected to meet the unique needs and atmosphere of the park.

Working within themed environments came with specific requests like minimizing exposed ground and using custom planters to align with the look and feel of The Wizarding World. Installing mainline irrigation beneath the hardscape was no small feat. Our team navigated around scaffolding, heavy equipment, and a bustling crew of electricians, plumbers, and painters—all while ensuring minimal disruption to construction progress.

Throughout the process, we collaborated closely with Universal Creative and the contractor, PCL, to help design planter solutions that supported the vision of an Old English setting. It was a rewarding experience to contribute alongside so many talented teams bringing this universe to life.
