Esplanade at McKinnon Groves and Lake Haven

Water-smart development is taking shape in Clermont. As Clermont moves to the forefront of new water regulations, the approach to community landscaping is evolving with it. Traditional landscape practices are giving way to thoughtful plant palette changes, living soils, and enhanced water-management strategies, including ongoing monitoring of water usage.

We’re proud to be part of that evolution through two communities in the Wellness Way area: Lake Haven and Esplanade at McKinnon Groves.

Set along the Clermont border, Esplanade at McKinnon Groves takes advantage of something unusual for Central Florida: rolling hills. Along the neighborhood edges, a diverse native palette of Perennial Peanut, Sunshine Mimosa and Dwarf Firebush works with the natural topography to stabilize soil, filter runoff and create a softer, more natural transition around the community’s structured, modern homes.

At Lake Haven, a master-planned lakeside community with single-family homes, townhomes and a gated 55+ neighborhood, the landscape incorporates Florida-adapted species including Muhly Grass, Fakahatchee Grass, Oaks and Sycamores. Together, these communities reflect a broader shift in Central Florida toward landscapes that do more than fulfill aesthetics. They use water more responsibly, respond to the conditions of the site and are designed to perform sustainably for years to come.
