Winnie Palmer Hospital had a need for places of personal reflection, gatherings and restoration. Redeveloping Lake Beauty Park created an urban oasis along with a new entryway experience to the healthcare district.
Previously the natural water body was overgrown and damaged by contaminated soils. Cherrylake worked with Orlando Health and AECOM to recreate this space. Today, the site is clean, with innovative rain gardens designed to capture runoff before entering the lake. Mature native trees were preserved while new canopies helped create a shady oasis. It provides places to be alone, or together, connected by a unified quarter mile walking loop. There is a formal event and terrace lawn, a tree-shaded seating area and gathering spaces with a walking/jogging area that circles around Lake Beauty.
